Do You have Pain With Running?
A recent article in the Wall Street Journal addresses what might be going on for runners who have pain.
The pain could be due to multiple things. For example, if you change the running surface you are running on from say a trail to a sidewalk or a road. The distances you run each day could be a factor, especially if you ramp up your distance too quickly. Shoes are also an important aspect to consider. For some of you, even your dog could be a factor. It's great to run with your dog as long as your dog isn't pulling you along!
As mentioned in the Wall Street article, having the way you run analyzed is a great step in helping figure out why you are having pain or an injury. We are able to do this here for you. We can do this either on the treadill or even outside, whichever works best for you. The analysis helps figure out how to change your form along with what specific exercises might be helpful in both improving your form while at the same time reducing pain and injury.
It makes more sense to have your movement pattern analyzed to help you resolve the issue versus being evaluated in the typical manner without considering your running form. If you are noticing pain due to running, give us a call. We're happy to help.
Until next time,
